There s a minor boo boo in the back blurb It says, Kristie adopted her late sister s baby, BEN, but the name of the kid between the covers is JAKE Before the final printing, HP editor must ve thought BEN was too generic decided to change it but neglected to correct the error on the back cover 2Kristie is hired by Radford s wheelchair bound sis, Felicity, to be her wedding planner When the hunky millionaire Radford shows up his hyphenated last name is revealed, it dawns on Kristie that he s Tarah s ex squeeze Radford s laser beam zooms in on her sparks flow, as in, insta attraction in his case insta animosity in her case U see, this is the same dude who d allegedly dumped Tarah, her beloved late sis Kristie has hated him for 6 yrs, sight unseen Kristie s been wanting to see the culprit who s to blame for Tarah s death so that she can let loose her wrath on him Now that they finally meet, she gets tongue tied all shook up Seeing her shot to pieces, Radford dismisses her as incompetent, but his sis mom wanna retain her cuz Kristie s highly recommended Radford s mom offers Kristie sweet accommodations She s provided w a rent free office in their mansion a car her own disposal Damn, I had no idea wedding planning is a lucrative job, I think I m in the wrong line of work hahahaaa Radford is puzzled by the negative vibe oozing from Kristie s pores She rebuffs his romantic overtures every turn She treats him like a mental punching bag he doesn t even know why cuz she clams up when asked He assumes he s been tarred w the same brush cuz mayhap he resembles the man who had badly traumatized Kristie He s determined to prove that he can t be lumped into the same mold When there s a rival for her affection, Radford shifts his wooing gear into full throttle He becomes determined to win her over, as long as the rival s ring isn t on Kristie s finger yet Defeatist attitude is a big no no in his book Li l did he know that he s been condemned as THE The Hated Enemy by Kristie based on Tarah s tear stained diary, which paints Radford as a heartless villain liar Radford has never liked kids cuz his cousin s children are hellraisers, but when he meets Jake, something tugs his heartstring he realizes that Jake can be the key to open Kristie s heart He gets the shock of his life when he sees a pic of Tarah on the bedside table while they re having their 1st luv session Kristie finally spits out the bombshell that he s Jake s dad Will he succeed in convincing Kristie that he really luvs her they can be a happy family if only Kristie s willing to let go of her hatred see that her sis was not the pure innocent victim that Kristie had always thought all these years After having problems liking the heroes in the previous 2 MM books I read this week, this time it s the heroine that was a turn off From the prologue, the heroine didn t endear herself to me w her thoughts, cuz the moment the surgeon delivered the devastating news that Tarah had just expired, Kristie immediately wished it was the baby who d died, not her sis Kristie didn t care bout the baby Whoa that didn t sit well w me all The prologue ended w Kristie wanting to kill the baby s daddy, whoever the hell he is What a bloodthirsty wench She cemented it by threatening to push Radford down the stairs 1 point She s a shrew, so rude antagonistic all the time, calling Radford names plotting her revenge by keeping the big secret bout Jake s paternity Ugh she s just a bitter pill, spiteful vindictive When Jake starts to question her bout his dad cuz all the kids in school has a daddy he s the only who doesn t have 1 , Kristie ponders if she should marry her platonic friend to provide a father figure in Jake s life There were moments where I mentally scratched my crooked wig, cuz I couldn t see what Radford sees in her I dunno why he even bothers to put in so much time effort to pursue Kristie or how he even comes to the realization that he s irrevocably in luv w her, when she avoids him like the plague shows him her disdain every chance she gets, as if he s a gnat that just won t go away Radford came across as a glutton for punishment, w his relentless amorous thoughts actions to tip the scale favorably towards him The word Hormone got scattered too many times in the book that I was beginning to think the H H were afflicted w a hormonal imbalance S Kristie is rude to him from the get go, as if she s biting the hands that feed her, but her bark is worse than her bite I didn t think Radford really knew her, it s purely sexual attraction, not luv She wouldn t let him get to know her better, no matter how hard he tried Usually HP heroes are the judgmental ones w mental as the operative word , but in this case, Kristie grated on Radford s nerves and mine cuz she was such a cold, calculating, ungrateful beyotch throughout the book, as if she got a baton the size of Jupiter up her The only redeeming quality bout her that Radford sees, is her wonderful child rearing skills, cuz Jake is a polite luvly kid Her logic made no sense all, just cuz her sis died of complications from C section, that didn t mean Radford snuffed the life outta Tarah Her thought process was CUCKOO How the hell was he to blame for childbirth gone wrong if he had no idea that he fathered Tarah s baby rolls eyes I wonder if I should persevere cuz I m glomming on MM books, still got a few in TBR pile.

Ebook Blogger Bundle 2 Pretty good story about a woman, Kristie, who s raising her dead sister s son Kristie carries a terrible grudge against the boy s father, so sometimes her dialogue and reactions seem quite extreme But Radford turns out to be an awesome guy.

About the Author: Margaret Mayo

Margaret MayoJessica R Mayo was born on February 7, 1936 in Staffordshire, England, and has remained within the county all of her life It was never her ambition to become a writer, although she always loved reading, even to the extent of reading comics out loud to her twin brother when she was eight years old In fact her only writing experience was in letters to various pen pals around the world She unfortunately lost touch with them now and often wonders whether any of them have ever discovered that her chatty letters were the forerunner to her writing career. She left school to become a secretary, taking a break to have her two children, Adrian and Tina Once they were at school she started back to work and planned to further her career by becoming a bi lingual secretary Unfortunately she couldn t speak any languages other than her native English, so she began evening classes It was at this time that she got the idea for a romantic short story to this day she doesn t know where the idea came from or why, but she thanks her lucky stars because it kick started her career Margaret, and her mother before her, had always read Mills Boon romances, and to actually be writing one excited her beyond measure My life began at forty is another one of her favourite sayings because that is when her first book was published two and a half years after she first set pen to paper that first book was written long before she felt confident enough to send it off.Having those books accepted was the happiest and most exciting day of her life She waltzed her husband around the room and their two children thought they d gone mad, until they were told the good news. Her first two submitted novels were accepted simultaneously, and now she has over sixty five to her credit When she looks at them lined up on her bookshelf she wonders how she has managed to write all those millions of words She is a hopeless romantic who loves writing She falls in love with every one of her heroes and likes to boast about how many love affairs she s had.Margaret gets so immersed in her writing that one day before she made writing her full time career and did most of her writing at the office her daughter phoned to ask whether she could come and meet her out of work Margaret told her not to be silly because it was foggy Her daughter said But it s sunny here And when Margaret looked out of the window the sun was shining Her hero and heroine were lost out in a sea of fog Before she became a successful author Margaret was extremely shy and found it difficult to talk to strangers For research purposes she forced herself to speak to people from all walks of life and now says her shyness has gone forever to a certain degree She is still happier pouring her thoughts out on paper.Copied from
