Janice has done it again The Dream Dress is a heartfelt and humorous story that I loved reading I loved the character of Gabriella and identified with her in many ways Her lack of relationship with her dad and the effect that her parents splitting up had on her mom is very similar to my life That made the book so relatable for me It was so fun to read Gabbi s story I also loved the tie ins with Fred Ginger If you love good clean fun with lots of humor, this is the book for you

Gabriella Delgado has a lot of issues to work through She is a seamstress for a high end wedding dress designer but a closet designer herself Her biggest passion is designing dresses to make brides beautiful for their wedding Working for Demetri Markowitz is just a way to pay the bills She longs to haver her abilities recognized but is also terrified they will be She lacks the confidence that her designs are good enough She also carries burdens from her past because her father walked out o Gabriella Delgado has a lot of issues to work through She is a seamstress for a high end wedding dress designer but a closet designer herself Her biggest passion is designing dresses to make brides beautiful for their wedding Working for Demetri Markowitz is just a way to pay the bills She longs to haver her abilities recognized but is also terrified they will be She lacks the confidence that her designs are good enough She also carries burdens from her past because her father walked out on her and her mother and she feels all men are the same Forgiveness is a big part of this book as Gabi needs to finally forgive her father for walking out and Demetri for never giving her the recognition she deserves._________________Book Quote_________________ Forgiving someone even when it doesn t make sense is the best gift you can give yourself ____________________________________________Thankfully, when Gabi meets Jordan Singer, a reporter for the Texas Bride magazine, her viewpoint on men starts to change If you have ever known the perfect hero for a story, Jordan is it He is the perfect guy from top to bottom, inside out So handsome and thoughtful and I think I m in love The scene at the theatre was breathtaking and just so RIGHT and fitting given the layout of this book Gabi s friends referred to her as having a Cinderella Complex and the entire story had a Cinderella feel to it She is also a huge Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers fan and that played a big part in the story also Each chapter title was a Fred and Ginger movie or song title, tipping it s hat to the legendary dancing duo.The story was fun and flirty, even hilarious at times with spiritual lessons woven all through the pages It wasn t overly done but perfectly blended into the story I love how the author took normal situations and explained them Biblically What seemed to be a normal occurrence soon became a human version of a story from the Bible Like the story of Cinderella I would never have related that to our relationship with God but now I can see the similarities between the two._________________Book Quote_________________ There s really only one thing that lasts forever, Gabi What do you mean I mean your relationship with your real Father It can last forever if you accept his invitation to the ball Now she d lost me entirely The ball Speaking symbolically here A tiny smile tipped up the edges of Bella s lips He s extended a special invitation to you, Gabi, whether you know it or not He has Yes She nodded and her eyes pooled I m talking about the very best sort of happily ever after you could ever imagine But it all hinges on one thing you have to accept Accept the invitation Accept the one who offers it ____________________________________________So much spiritual wisdom wrapped up in one little book I truly loved that I also loved the romance that blossomed between Gabi and Jordan It built slowly over the course of the story but ended with a bang Like an instrumental when it hits the high notes It left me sighing and saying a breathless Ahhh Another thing that stands out are the characters I have never read the previous books in this series but I already love the cast of characters From Mimi Carmen to Demetri Markowitz, they were all amazing and I hope to return to visit them again I adore Gabi s description of Mimi Carmen, Half Spanish diva, half buttercream frosting And she was too You will fall in love with the endearing, and sometimes eccentric, characters They are half the charm of this book and the very thing that will draw you back to this series Although this book can be read as a stand alone, I can t wait to go back and read the previous books and, hopefully, future ones as well If you like fun filled, fairytale romances loaded with little gold nuggets of spiritual wisdom, you ll love this book It took my mind on a journey to the dream wedding I ve yet to have Read it and take your own journey Highly recommended Disclaimer I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher for my honest review The opinions expressed are mine alone and are honest and forthright If I recommend a book it s simply because I liked it I received no monetary compensation for this review

Inspirational author Janice Thompson returns with the third book in her, Weddings by Design series, The Dream Dress When it comes to Weddings, Thompson knows what she s talking about Having been a former Wedding planner herself gives her stories an authenticity that is missing from other books of this kind Thompson uses over the top situations to create humor in her writing and readers will find themselves smiling often when reading her books Thompson s inspirational message is weaved throug Inspirational author Janice Thompson returns with the third book in her, Weddings by Design series, The Dream Dress When it comes to Weddings, Thompson knows what she s talking about Having been a former Wedding planner herself gives her stories an authenticity that is missing from other books of this kind Thompson uses over the top situations to create humor in her writing and readers will find themselves smiling often when reading her books Thompson s inspirational message is weaved throughout the story assuring that readers not only entertained but have the opportunity to grow spiritually as well What I liked Every time I pick up a book by Janice Thompson I know a few things already One, it will be a fun read, with lots of humor and two, it will have a clear cut message In her latest book, The Dream Dress, Thompson again goes back to her roots as a wedding planner and brings readers a story about a young woman with a dream A dream of being a wedding gown designer Unfortunately, Gabi doesn t understand her own worth and can t believe that she will ever attain her goal The messes she finds herself in as she works at hemming and stitching gowns designed by others is often enough to make readers laugh out loud, but it is clearly the underlying message of faith that is the love story of this novel Don t get me wrong, Gabi s Mr Right comes in the form of a reporter from Texas Bride magazine, named Jordan And these two make a wonderful couple They are sweet together, supportive of each other and ultimately they find their way together But the story of how Gabi comes to the realization of God s love in her own life is the back bone of the book I could see a lot of myself in Gabi s character and I believe other readers will as well She is easy to relate to because we have all had moments of low self esteem in our lives and this is a character that will speak to others I loved the fact that Thompson didn t try to water down her story to make it fit into a certain kind of mold She told it with simplicity and clarity and I loved the way it turned out I also enjoyed the characters from Thompson s other series, Weddings by Bella making an appearance as well It was nice to see them again and gave readers who follow the author a chance to catch up with some old favorites Also I think it provided some page time to the relationships between women that can be so special All of the women in this series are inter related in some way and I loved seeing them interact and draw strength from each other I think writing about friendships is so meaningful I often find myself wishing for that special girlfriend that has been missing in my own life and seeing these characters interact makes me determined to find that again Another pleasant surprise from this book Love is certainly in the air with this series and I think Thompson does a fantastic job with all of the wedding aspects of the story It provides a lot of necessary structure for the story and weddings are such a wonderful and joyful experience to write about I loved all of the behind the scenes information about the wedding business and it makes me wish I could do that for a living What I didn t like Some of the situations that Thompson writes about are a little too over the top for me Not that they couldn t happen in real life, it s just that the possibility of so many of them happening to the same set of characters seems a bit far fetched once in a while But if I just let myself go and enjoy the read no matter what happens, little things like that, just kind of fade into the background Bottom Line This story made me laugh It made me nostalgic for a close female friend It made me think about God s love in my own life and how having confidence is so important In other words, it touched me on many levels and it definitely tickled my funny bone A very good book by an exceptional inspirational author
